Gravenhurst
& South Muskoka
Gravenhurst is the southern gateway to Muskoka, a year-round town of about 14,600 people on Lake Muskoka, Gull Lake and Kahshe Lake, thirty minutes north of Orillia on Highway 11, with Bracebridge and Bala beyond it. Gravenhurst and Muskoka cottages range from first cottages on the in-town lakes to luxury waterfront on Lake Muskoka, and the town itself has schools, services and a growing year-round population.
Muskoka begins at Gravenhurst: the historic steamships at Muskoka Wharf, the southern reaches of Lake Muskoka, and two in-town lakes, Gull and Kahshe, that have started generations of cottage stories. North sit Bracebridge and Bala; south, Highway 11 runs straight home.
